KM is intangible? Concrete? Abstract? Applicable?

To have a better definition of KM we must define the next concepts to relate them with the term:

  • Intangible: not having physical presence.
  • Abstract: existing in thought or as an idea but not having a physical or concrete existence.
  • Concrete: existing in a material or physical form; not abstract.
  • Applicable: capable of or suitable for being applied.

Once these concepts are understood, we can say that KM is an intangible asset in companies that move with abstract ideas but that are applicable in processes, projects, among other forms of work and become concrete.

Tactical problems & strategic implications

Strategy and tactics are two terms that get thrown around a lot, but what exactly is the difference?

Adams (2009) states strategic refers to "what” and “why" the business chooses to do something and tactical refers to "how” they plan to accomplish it.

Other point of view from Farnam Street ¨Strategy is overarching plan or set of goals and tactics are the specific actions or steps you undertake to accomplish your strategy¨.
